The red underline

wrong, Wrong, WRONG
Defective words
A red underline
Wasn’t so benign

Teacher, preacher wise
Willing to chastise
Red ink upon white
summoned to indict

They won’t set it right
Failure exposed
That invisible line
parts faulty from fine

Letters gone amiss
The red upon white
To be underlined
divides humankind

  1. Parmis,
This one gives me school-chills. You’ve captured the evil “red pen”very well. There was so much “correcting” in school (for me) that it trampled my creativity into a protective hibernation mode for decades. This is one of the many reasons we embarked on home education with our kids. Are we have a couple of VERY creative guys. Thanks for writing and posting this poem.
